Abstract
Background: This scientific writing is based on data, obtained from various sources of literature, which state that olive oil therapy is a natural therapy. This therapy can be used to treat diaper rash/diaper rash, impaired skin integrity in infants. Baby diaper rash is often found on the lower abdomen, in the dermis, buttocks, inside of the thighs and in the vulva area. This condition is common in infants or children who often use pampers, occurs mostly at the age of 6-12 months, rashes can occur due to diarrhea caused by irritation due to liquid feces, frequent defecation, and bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus), causing damage to the integrity of the skin irritation from diarrhea. According to published data, the prevalence of diarrhea in children under five based on diagnoses by health workers and symptoms according to Central Java Province reached a percentage of 12.3% (Ministry of Health RI, 2018). Diaper rash caused by irritation does not require special medication, just keep the diaper dry and maintain hygiene. Olive Oil, which functions to protect against the dangers of pathogenic microorganisms repairing damaged skin cells as an antioxidant neutralizing free radicals reduces redness on the skin and protects the skin from irritation. Purpose: Describes assistance for skin integrity disorders in infants with diaper rash caused by diarrhea and with infant age 6-12 months with Olive Oil therapy. Method: This scientific writing is an analysis with a case study approach. It Can be obtained through interviews and observation. Respondents were 3 patients with diaper rash due to diarrhea. Results: Olive Oil therapy can be used to treat the problem of impaired skin integrity of diaper rash in infants aged 6-12 months. Recommendation: patients are advised to continue Olive Oil therapy independently at home to get maximum results.
