Abstract
Background : World Health Organization in 2019 revealed that there were 463 million Diabetes Mellitus, patient and it will increase in 2045 to reach 700 million. People with DM in 2013 experienced increasing about 6,9% and an increase in 2018 with a percentage of 8,5%, patient with DM need their family support, especially in diabetic distress where emotional suport has an important role in type 2 DM during getting treatment process because the family becomes the patient’s companion at home. Objective : a. To know family emotional support to patient with type 2 in the work area of the klirong 1 health center b. to know the implementation of DM treatment in the work area of the klirong 1 health center methods : this study used a descriptive quantitative methode with a correlation study design type of sampling using a total sampling technique and obtained a sample of 37 respondents. Data collection used a family emotional support questionnaire and a self efficacy questionnairw for managing diabetes mellitus. Result : the average age of the respondents was 56-63 years, most of them were female in terms of gender characteristic, the most recent education was elementary school, most of the respondents had married status, the most occupational respondents were felf employed, the average DM type 2 patient had family emotional suport sufficient. In this study, type 2 DM patient had an adequate level of self-care for diabetes mellitus. Conclution : the result of the study showed that rhere was a relationship between family emotional support in the implementation of type 2 diaetes melitus care. Recommendation : further research can take aspect of family emotional support received by patients with DM as the next research.
