Abstract

Background: Hypertension is a condition characterized by elevated blood pressure. Diet and stress both influence hypertension. We must pay attention to a healthy diet and avoid stress in order to prevent and treat hypertension. Research Objectives: The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between diet and stress and the incidence of hypertension. Research Method : This study used an analytic observational method with a crosssectional study design. This study used non-probability sampling utilizing an accidental sampling technique, with 154 respondents. The FFQ diet questionnaire was utilized as the research tool. Research Results: The results of the study based on the chi-square test obtained a value of ρ = 0.00 with a significance level of α = 0.05, which means there is a relationship between diet and the incidence of hypertension. Conclusion: As a result, bad eating habits might lead to hypertension.
