Abstract
Background: Hypertension is a chronic, noncommunicable disease that is the leading cause of death worldwide. According to data from the Batur 1 Health Center's top ten major ailments, hypertension ranks third. People with hypertension, both those who experience symptoms and those who do not, must take medicine on a daily basis while receiving treatment. Research Objectives: The purpose of this study is to examine the characteristics of hypertension patients and their level of adherence to medication in the Batur 1 Health Center Banjarnegara. Research Method : This study use descriptive analysis. There are 190 persons in total. With a total sample size of 129 respondents, the sampling strategy employed was sequential random sampling. The characteristics of hypertension patients and the level of medication adherence at the Batur 1 Banjarnegara Health Center were used as variables in this study. Research Results: At Batur 1 Banjarnegara Public Health Center, the majority of responders reported an adequate level of medication adherence. Conclusion: The majority of hypertension patients at the Batur 1 Banjarnegara Health Center are middle-aged adults who are female, have an elementary education, and work as farmers. The level of adherence to medication for hypertension patients at Batur 1 Banjarnegara public health center is adequate. Recommendation: It is hoped that more researchers will expand on this research by examining the relationship or factors influencing medication adherence in persons with hypertension.
