Abstract
Background: Asthma is a chronical inflammatory disease of respiratory tract which can cause bronchial hypersensitivity to various stimuli and airway obstruction. This will cause symptoms, such as wheezing, coughing and shortness of breath, especially at night it can generally occur repeatedly. To control shortness of breath is by applying Buteyko breathing therapy. Objective: Describing nursing care for asthma patients having ineffective airway clearance at Muhammadiyah Hospital of Gombong. Method: This scientific paper is an analytical descriptive with a case study approach. Data obtained through interview, observation, and documentation. The respondents were 3 asthma patients. Result: After having Buteyko breathing therapy, there was a decrease in respiratory rate. Recommendation: It is advisable to apply Buteyko breathing therapy to reduce respiratory rate in the effort of improving the quality of nursing care for asthma patients.
