Abstract
Background : Hypertension is a degenerative disease that is generally experienced by the elderly, but recently it has started to be experienced by young adults. The number of cases is influenced by several factors, one of which is psychological disorders and sleep quality. Psychological disorders that are often found are depression, anxiety and stress. Objectives : To determine the description of psychological disorders and sleep quality in young adult hypertension patients at Punggelan 2 Health Center. Research Methods: This research is descriptive quantitative with a cross sectional approach, sampling using purposive sampling with a total sample of 100 respondents with hypertension of young adult age (20-44 years) at Puskesmas Punggelan 2. Using the DASS-42 and PSQI questionnaires which were declared valid and reliable with a value of (a = .9483) and (r> = 0.22) and 0.95 and 0.72. Data analysis using univariate analysis. Research Results : Showing the results of 100 respondents, the level of hypertension was dominated by grade 1 hypertension as many as 41 (41.0%) respondents, the most depression level was normal depression 33 respondents (33.0%), the level of anxiety was at a moderate level 29 (29.0%) respondents, the stress level was mostly severe stress as many as 33 respondents (33.0%), and sleep quality was dominated by the poor sleep quality category of 68.0% or 68 respondents. Conclusion : The majority of young adult hypertensive patients at Puskesmas Punggelan 2 experience psychological disorders in the form of stress, anxiety and poor sleep quality. Recommendation : It is expected that Puskesmas nurses can create a program to deal with psychological problems and sleep quality disorders in young adult hypertensive patients at Puskesmas Punggelan 2.
