Abstract
Background: Glaucoma is the second biggest cause of blindness after cataract. Blindness due to glaucoma is irreversible. However, blindness in patients due to glaucoma can be prevented by increasing patient compliance in postoperative control. High patient awareness of the dangers of glaucoma and increasing knowledge about glaucoma can minimize complications and vision loss that may occur in the future Research objective: the relationship between knowledge of glaucoma and adherence to postoperative glaucoma control at Purbowangi Public Hospital. Research Methods: this study used a non-experimental quantitative correlation research method using a cross-sectional approach. The research was conducted from April to June 2023 with a total sample of 53 respondents. How to take samples using the Total Sampling method. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire. Data were processed with SPSS and analyzed with the Spearman Rank statistical test. Research results; the results of the study showed that there was a significant relationship between knowledge about glaucoma and adherence to postoperative glaucoma control with a p value <α 0.002. In conclusion: the conclusion of this study is that there is a significant relationship between knowledge about glaucoma and adherence to postoperative glaucoma control. Recommendations for future researchers: can develop more research with different variables or indicators related to Glaucoma.
