Abstract
Background: Non-communicable diseases have a huge negative impact such as acute myocardial infarction (AMI) which is myocardial necrosis after interference with the heart muscle receiving blood. The typical symptom of AMI is chest pain. Pain in AMI occurs because the blood supply that carries nutrients and metabolism in the body is reduced, causing an uncomfortable sensation. Acute pain related to physical injurious agents. In providing complementary implementation, nurses use the Benson relaxation method which can reduce pain Objective: Analysis of Nursing Care in AMI Patients with Acute Pain Nursing Problems Using Benson Intervention in the ICU of Palang Biru Kutoarjo Hospital. Method: This scientific writing used a descriptive case study design. The case study subjects were 5 AMI patients, who experienced Acute Pain problems collecting data with observation techniques, interviews, and documentation studies. Results of Nursing Care: The results of the implementation of the five patients who had been given Benson relaxation therapy which was carried out for 3 days with a duration of 10-15 minutes experienced a decrease in pain from an average moderate pain scale of 4.1 to mild pain 3.5 Conclusion: Evaluation of the five patients using the innovative Benson relaxation technique effectively reduces pain levels in AMI patients.
