Abstract
Background: Diabetes is a significant public health problem and one of the four non-communicable diseases that receive attention from world leaders. Indonesia alone has the number of diabetics reaching 19.47 million, which puts it in the fifth rank. Research Methods: This study is a descriptive quantitative study with a cross sectional approach with a total population of 48 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Samples used with total sampling. The instruments used were DKQ-24 and Dietary Habits. Statistical tests using Spearman Rank data collection was carried out in April-June 2023, instruments using Knowledge and Diet. Research Results: Based on the results of this study, it was found that there was a significant relationship between knowledge and blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes mellitus with p value = 0.017 (< a 0.05) and there was a significant relationship between diet and blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus p value = 0.048 (< a 0.05). Conclusion: It is hoped that the Puskesmas will not only focus on curative efforts, but also carry out promotive efforts by providing education, motivation and evaluation.
