Abstract
Background: Pain is an unpleasant feeling and emotional experience due to tissue damage. Noni (Morinda citrifolia L.) is a medicinal plant that has benefits in traditional medicine to help relieve and cure variety of diseases, one of which is pain. Research purposes: This study aims to determine the best analgesic activity and concentration of methanol and noni leaves (Morinda citrifolia L.) aquades extract in a male white mice (Mus musculus) induced by pain with 1% acetic acid. Research methods: This study was an experimental study with 50 male white mice as subjects. The test animals were divided into 10 treatment groups with 5 treatment groups in each extract, namely the negative control was given 1% CMC-Na, the positive control was given ponstan, the methanol extract and aquadest extract groups dosed at 150 mg/Kg BW, 300 mg/Kg BW, and 600 mg/Kg BW. The pain inducer given was 1% acetic acid. Observations were made by observing the movement of mice to calculate the % pain protection. The data obtained was then tested with One Way ANOVA and Post Hoc LSD or Games Howell statistical tests. Research results: Methanol extract and noni leaves (Morinda citrifolia L.) aquades extract in doses of 150 mg/Kg BW, 300 mg/Kg BW, and 600 mg/Kg BW have an analgesic effect on male white mice and give significant effect (p< 0.05) on mice induced by 1% acetic acid. Conclusion: Methanol extract of noni leaves (Morinda citrifolia L.) in a dosage of 600 mg/Kg BW has the best analgesic effect upon male white mice is expressed significant with a value p <0.05 and a greater positive mean difference value. Compared to the mean difference value of extracts of noni leaf aqueous extract (Morinda citrifolia L.) is smaller. Recommendation: It is necessary to carry out further research on the analgesic effect of methanol extract and aquades extract using other methods.
