Abstract
Background: Diabetes is a lifelong disease that occurs when blood glucose levels increase due to impaired production or disruption of insulin work and can cause various complications. Data from the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) shows 6.7 million people die from diabetes. Medical Nutrition Therapy is a key component in diabetes management. Dietary adherence is important to maintain control of blood sugar levels and is one of the success factors in preventing complications and speeding up recovery in patients with diabetes mellitus. Purpose: To describe of dietary compliance in patients with diabetes mellitus. Method: This study used quantitative descriptive method with cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used total sampling technique with the sample of 60 persons. The instrument were questionnaires about a dietary adherence questionnaire in DM patients. Data were processed with SPSS-25 and analyzed using Univariate test in percentage form. Result: The results of the study showed that the majority of respondents adhered to the dietary compliance level of 50 people (93.2%). The results show for dietary compliance based on the number of 55 adherents (93.2%), type of 51 adherents (86.4%) and schedule of 52 adherents (88.1%). Conclusion: Diet compliance level of diabetes patients at Puskesmas Gombong adhere to the majority of 50 people (86.4%). Recommendation: For future researchers, it is hoped that they can examine the relationship between family support and dietary adherence in people with diabetes mellitus.
