Abstract
ANALYSIS OF NURSING CARE APPLICATION OF SEMI FOWLER POSITION AND AROMATHERAPY OF EUCALYPTUS IN BRONCHIAL ASTHMA PATIENTS WITH INEFFECTIVE BREATHING PATTERNS IN THE IGD ROOM PKU MUHAMMADIYAH GOMBONG HOSPITAL Background: Bronchial asthma is a condition in which the airways experience narrowing which can be caused by hyperactivity to certain stimuli. Handling bronchial asthma with non-pharmacological therapy, namely semi-Fowler's position therapy and eucalyptus aromatherapy. General Objective: Describe nursing care for bronchial asthma patients with ineffective breathing pattern nursing problems in the Emergency Room of PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Method: This study uses a descriptive method with a case study approach. The sample is 5 bronchial asthma patients. The case study instrument used semi-fowler position SOP and eucalyptus aromatherapy SOP and observation sheets before and after semi-fowler position therapy and eucalyptus aromatherapy. Results of Nursing Care: The results of the application carried out to 5 patients, all of them experienced nursing problems with ineffective breathing patterns and were given semi-Fowler's position therapy for 15-30 minutes beforehand then given eucalyptus aromatherapy simultaneously for 10-15 minutes after the intervention ended 15 minutes later Measurements were made using an observation sheet. Then observed before and after therapy. After applying the therapy to 5 patients, the results showed a decrease in respiratory frequency, a decrease in the use of auxiliary respiratory muscles, a decrease in nostril breathing, and a decrease in pursed lip breathing. Recommendation: The results of this study can be applied to patients with complaints of ineffective breathing patterns to reduce respiratory frequency, use of auxiliary muscles of breathing, nostril breathing and pursed lip breathing by means of non-pharmacological therapy. Conclusion: The results of the application of innovative nursing actions show that there is a decrease in the value of respiratory rate (RR), a decrease in the use of auxiliary muscles of breathing, a decrease in nostril breathing and no pursed lip breathing
