Abstract
The background, of the problem in this scientific paper, was based on data obtained from various literature sources, indicating the existence of nutritional problems in Indonesia, specifically related to the dual burden of malnutrition and overnutrition. The prevalence of childhood obesity was reported to be 3.8%, while obesity among individuals aged 18 years and above was 21.8%. Although efforts were made to maintain the obesity rate at 21.8% by 2024, it remained a significant and challenging task. The purpose, of this scientific paper was to provide an overview of nursing care for families facing obesity problems due to ineffective management of family health. The research method, employed was a case study, utilizing the descriptive observation method. The instruments used included a family nursing care format, weight scale, height meter, observation sheet, pretest sheet, and posttest sheet. The study involved three fostered families and was conducted over six sessions. The results showed that after receiving educational interventions throughout six sessions, the fostered families' ability to implement obesity prevention measures increased. The average pretest scores improved from 5.3 to 9.3. The study recommends, that families understand the obesity problem they face and take appropriate measures to prevent and manage it. This can be achieved by maximizing family health management practices and enhancing knowledge about obesity-related health issues, thereby minimizing the occurrence of such problems
