Abstract
Background: Patients with thalassemia really need blood transfusions. Continuous blood transfusions can have a psychological impact, namely the emergence of excessive anxiety. To reduce the impact of children from anxiety, we need a media that can express anxiety, one of which is play therapy. Coloring therapy is a game that is in accordance with hospital principles where psychologically this game can help children express feelings of anxiety. Objective: Conduct anxiety nursing care for pre-school aged children with a diagnosis of thalassemia in the Melati Room of RSUD dr. Soedirman Kebumen Method: Using a descriptive method with a case study approach. The case study subjects to be studied were 5 clients with thalassemia children with pre-school age anxiety. The tools in this study were nursing care formats, Nursing Kits, Facial Image Scale (FIS), and SOP for image coloring therapy. Presentation of data by the author by drawing conclusions based on subjective and objective data, which are presented in the method of documentation and nursing care resumes Results: The results of the study showed that the five patients had the same main complaint, namely thalassemia with anxiety. Priority nursing diagnoses in patients I-V are anxiety related to situational crises. The nursing interventions carried out were anxiety reduction (I.09314) and image coloring therapy. The implementation of nursing carried out is anxiety reduction (I.09314) and image coloring therapy. The results of the nursing evaluation of the five patients showed that anxiety problems were resolved with indications of a reduction in signs of anxiety symptoms in hospitalization in pre-schoolaged children with thalassemia. The results of innovative nursing action therapy coloring pictures in children with hospitalization anxiety problems in pre-school-aged children with thalassemia showed a decrease in symptoms of hospitalization anxiety in pre-schoolaged children with thalassemia. The results of the evaluation of the five patients showed decreased verbalization of confusion, decreased verbalization of worry due to their condition, decreased anxiety behavior, decreased tense behavior. Recommendation: The results of this nursing care can be used as a reference for preparing SOPs for handling anxiety using the image coloring therapy method
