Abstract
Background: Patient with diabetes mellitus will experience a decrease in the body's ability to control glucose in the blood. So it is necessary to pay attention to the psychological side in addition to the physical aspect. Diabetics can cause a negative impact on psychological well-being both with and without complications. Purpose: To determine the psychological well-being of diabetes mellitus patients at the Wanayasa 1 Banjarnegara Public Health Center. Method: This study uses a quantitative descriptive research method. psychological well being instrument. The study population consisted of all 100 diabetes mellitus patients. The sample method uses total sampling, a sample of 100 people. Results: the characteristics of DM patients obtained the majority of patients with late elderly numbering 43 (43%), female sex 75 (75%), education obtained primary and secondary school 55 (55%) and working status the majority did not work 53 (53%). Psychological well-being of diabetics related to independence is obtained by the majority with bad number 57(57%), environmental mastery is mostly bad 46(46%), personal growth is found with bad results 29(29%), positive relationship mostly with bad 44(44) %), related to the majority's life goals with bad 45 (45%), bad category self-acceptance there are 45 (45%) and majority selfacceptance with bad category 45 (45%%). Conclusion: The results of the study found that the majority of psychological well-being in terms of each dimension of psychological well being was obtained in the bad category. Recommendations: it is necessary to increase family support and the surrounding environment in an effort to improve the psychological well-being of patient with diabetes.
