Abstract

Background: Stroke is a condition where rapidly developing clinical signs are found in the form of focal and global neurologic deficits which can be severe and last for 24 hours or more and can cause death. Objectives: To determine the effectiveness of Mirror Therapy in increasing facial muscle strength in stroke patients in Adimulyo Village, Kebumen Regency. Method: This study uses a quasi-experimental design method with a cross-sectional approach. Sampling using total sampling technique and obtained a sample of 26 respondents. Retrieval of data using a questionnaire observation sheet and a mirror. Data analysis used univariate and bivariate analysis using paired sample t test. Results: The results of this study In the intervention group there was a change in muscle strength between before and after being given mirror therapy with an average increase of 47.69 to 65.38. There was no change in muscle strength in the control group between before and after mirror therapy was not given with an average decrease from 41.54 to 41.20. Conclusion: There is a significant effect of vermin therapy on facial muscle strength in Adimulyo Village, Kebumen district, with a p-value (0.042) (<0.05). Recommendation: For future researchers, it is hoped that this can serve as a reference and information, in conducting research and supporting the findings of new theories on how to increase facial muscle strength in non-hemorrhagic stroke patients.
