Abstract
Background: In Indonesia, there has been a shift in the population of hypertension patients at a younger age with causes such as gender, physical activity, smoking habits, hereditary history, obesity. Objective: to determine the factors associated with hypertension at the age of 30-40 years in the working area of the UPTD Kroya I Health Center. Methods: This study uses analytic observational. A sample of 114 patients was taken by total sampling technique. Data analysis used the chi square test. Results: Factors related to hypertension at the age of 30-40 years were gender (p=0.001), physical activity (p=0.000), smoking habits (p=0.039), hereditary history (p=0.003) and obesity factor (p=0.017). Conclusion: Factors that influence hypertension at the age of 30-40 years in the working area of the UPTD Kroya I Health Center include gender, genetic factors, obesity, smoking habits and physical activity. Recommendation: Future research is expected to examine the most dominant factors associated with the occurrence of hypertension such as alcohol consumption, exercise, and work.
