Abstract
Background: Post laparotomy is a service provided to patients who have undergone abdominal surgery. The World Health Organization (WHO) said that post-laparotomy patients in the world increase every year by 10%. Post laparotomy patients will experience pain due to the incision or incision at the surgical site. This is what makes Mozart's music therapy effective in reducing pain because classical music has an effective effect on pain intensity. Research Objectives: To find knowing nursing care to reduce pain in post- laparotomy patients with the application of Mozart music therapy in the ICU room of PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. ResearchMethods: This study uses a case study descriptive method with a nursing process approach. Sampling using inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria on 5 respondents. Data collection uses assessment, interviews, observation, medical records, and nursing care methods which are then carried out by analyzing nursing problems and analyzing nursing actions. Research Results: The results of the study obtained the author's analysis of nursing diagnoses based on nursing problems that are in accordance with patient data and the theoretical concept of acute pain related to physiological agents of injury. This is because the patient complains of moderate pain in the postoperative wound supported by pain scale data using a numerical scale. Interventions made to overcome the problem of acute pain is pain management. Mozart music therapy intervention. The implementation of music Mozart therapy is proven to be used to reduce the pain scale in the moderate pain scale range (with the result of a 3-point pain scale reduction). The evaluation obtained from the five patients was that there was a decrease in the pain scale after being given Mozart music therapy so that the patient felt more comfortable and relaxed, so according to Maslow's basic needs can be fulfilled, namely a sense of comfort. Conclusion: Giving Mozart music therapy is proven to be used to reduce the pain scale in the moderate pain scale range. In post laparotomy patients Recommendation: Further researchers, for ICU nurses, the results of this study can be used as basic data for independent nursing actions by nurses with Mozart music therapy
