Abstract
Background: A serious threat to global health and one of the top ten causes of death, namely diabetes mellitus (DM). High blood sugar levels in the urine or hyperglycemia is one of the factors causing ineffective peripheral tissue perfusion. One of the non-pharmacological treatments that can be used is progressive muscle relaxation therapy. Objective: To describe nursing care for Type II DM patients with ineffective peripheral tissue perfusion through progressive muscle relaxation therapy at the UPTD Kroya Health Center 1. Method: This study writing uses a descriptive case study design. Case study subjects were 5 Type II DM patients who experienced ineffective peripheral tissue perfusion. Data collection was done using observation, interview and documentation studies. Results: The evaluation of the five Type II DM patients was achieved with an average after progressive muscle relaxation, the majority of capillary refill <3 seconds, peripheral pulse increased, acral was no longer cold, pale skin color decreased, paraesthesia was quite decreased, skin turgor improved. Whereas previously the majority was found with capillary refill > 3 seconds, decreased peripheral pulse, cold acral, pale skin color, paresthesia, and decreased skin turgor Conclusion: effective progressive muscle relax
