Abstract
Background: Cardiogenic shock in STEMI is a major cause of death, with a mortality rate in hospital approaching 50%. Therefore, STEMI must be treated promptly because the most valuable time in acute myocardial infarction is in the very early phase, when the patient experiences severe pain and may experience cardiac arrest. Non-pharmacological management includes bed rest and pain management without drugs using relaxation techniques. Objective: Describe the nursing care of stemmy patients with acute pain in the ICU of Prembun Hospital. Method: This scientific writing uses a descriptive case study design. The case study subjects were 5 STEMI patients who experienced acute pain problems in the ICU. Collecting data with observation techniques, interviews and documentation studies. Results: The assessment of the five patients complained of chest pain during activity that spread to the back to the arms accompanied by cold sweat, with an average pain of 3.53, looked grimacing, looked restless. The nursing diagnosis of acute pain is related to a physiological injury agent, using pain management, focused on Benson relaxation therapy and lavender aromatherapy which is carried out once a day for 10-15 minutes. It was found that the five patients experienced a decrease in pain with an average scale of 2.2 after being given Benson relaxation therapy and lavender aromatherapy. Conclusion: The innovative action of benson relaxation techniques and lavender aromatherapy is effective in reducing pain levels in STEMI/AMI patients
