Abstract
Background: Medicinal plants are plants in which one or all parts of the plant contain active substances that are efficacious for health which can be used as a cure for disease. Mirit District has a fairly large agricultural area, so that many residents work as farmers. In addition, many Mirit people use plants in their neighborhood as medicine. So it is necessary to carry out ethnobotanical studies to determine the potential of medicinal plants in the Mirit District Research objectives: This research is a descriptive research with the presentation of qualitative data. Qualitative presentation aims to find out the plants used by the community as traditional medicine. Using survey methods: observation, and semi-structured interviews with snowball sampling by asking for recommendations from key informants and main or core informants. Research Results: Based on the research results, it is known that there are 49 plant species consisting of 33 families, the most widely used plants are dominated by the Zingiberaceae family (20.0%), the part that is mostly used is leaves (56.0%), by boiling processing (74.0%) ), and its use is taken orally (88.0%), herb habitus (34.0%). Conclusion: There are 49 types of medicinal plants consisting of 33 families, the most widely used family is Zingiberaceae, the part used is the leaves, the method of processing is boiled, the method of use is drunk. Medicinal plants in the form of herbs.
