Abstract
Background: Hypertension is still a major public health issue around the world. According to the 2018 Riskesdas report, hypertension cases in Indonesia increased from 34.1% to 25.8%. One of the challenges that hypertension patients face is changes in their quality of life. Employment status, comorbidities, and medication adherence are the most important factors influencing the quality of life of elderly with hypertension. Objective: The purpose of this study was to describe the quality of life of hypertension patients in the Klirong II Community Health Center. Method: This is a quantitative study that takes a cross-sectional method. Purposive sampling was used to choose a sample of 85 hypertension individuals. The WHOQOL-BREF Questionnaire was utilized as the instrument. Results: According to the findings, 57 people (67.1%) with hypertension had a high quality of life, while 28 people (32.9%) had a moderate quality of life. Physical health was found to be better in respondents with a moderate quality of life (92.9%) than in respondents with a low quality of life (5.9%). Conclusion: The majority of hypertension patients at Klirong II Community Health Center have a high quality of life.
