Abstract
Background: The widespread use of antibiotics can lead to inappropriate use of antibiotics, so it is necessary to evaluate drug use to see the picture of antibiotic use in pneumonia patients at Purbowangi General Hospital. Research has been carried out to evaluate quantitative drug use using the ATC/DDD and DU 90% methods in inpatients at Purbowangi General Hospital. Research Objective: To determine the profile of antibiotic use in pneumonia patients inpatients at RSU Purbowangi for the period 2020–2022 by evaluating antibiotic use using the ATC/DDD and DU 90% methods. Research Methods: Descriptive research with methods of taking medical records of patients with pneumonia from 2020-2022. Results: Antibiotics used in inpatient pneumonia patients at Purbowangi General Hospital for the 2020-2022 period included ceftriaxone, levofloxacin, and meropenem. The DDD value of ceftriaxone is 58.5 DDD/100 patient-days in 2020, 30.3 DDD/100 patient-days in 2021, 53.1 DDD/100 patient-days in 2022. The DDD value of levofloxacin is 20 DDD/ 100 patient-days in 2020, 8.4 DDD/100 patient-days in 2021, 21.2 DDD/100 patient-days in 2022. The DDD value of meropenem is 3.3 DDD/100 patient-days in 2020 , 14.9 DDD/100 patient-days in 2021, 21.4 DDD/100 patient-days in 2022. Antibiotics included in the 90% DU segment are Ceftriaxone and Levofloxacin. What is included in the 10% DU segment is Meropenem. Conclusion: The majority of pneumonia patients inpatients at Purbowangi General Hospital receive one daily dose of Ceftriaxone every day, namely 58.5% in 2020, 30.3% in 2021, 53.1% in 2022. Recommendation: It's best to do qualitative research using the gyssens method in the same hospital and the same disease.
