Abstract
Background: Low Birth Weight (LBW) is the condition of infants weighing less than 2,500 grams to 2,499 grams regardless of gestational age. Suboptimal sucking and swallowing reflexes are common in LBW infants. This condition has a high risk of experiencing problems with increasing weight so that it has an impact on the nutritional status of the baby. Non-pharmacological interventions using Audio- Tactile Kinesthetic stimulation therapy can improve baby's sucking reflex and LBW nutritional status. Objective: Describes nursing care for LBW babies by administering Audio-Tactile Kinesthetic Stimulation Therapy with Ineffective Breastfeeding nursing problems in the Melati Room RSUD DR. MargonoSoekardjo Purwokerto. Method: This research uses a descriptive method with a case study approach. The sample is 5 LBW baby patients. The case study instrument used SOP for Kinesthetic Audio-Tactile Stimulation and observation sheets before and after administration of Stimulation. Results: The results of the application carried out on the five patients who experienced ineffective breastfeeding problems and were given nonpharmacological therapy using 3 days Audio-Kinesthetic Tactile Stimulation therapy in 15 minutes together and carried out once a day showed an effect on increasing TTV, nutritional status and reflexes. suction with an average difference in incoming liquid that is an increase of 2.2 ml. Recommendation: The next researcher can combine it with other nonpharmacological nursing interventions involving the role of the mother.
