Abstract
Background: Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA) are plants that can be efficacious as medicines that are planted in the home garden. TOGA can also have economic value. The people of Candisari village RW 02 and RW 03 use and plant many family medicinal plants, namely ginger, turmeric, galangal, ginger and cat's whiskers. The level of public knowledge and attitudes towards TOGA is influenced by sociodemographic characteristics. Research objectives: To determine the level of knowledge and attitudes of the community towards the use of TOGA in Candisari village, Banyuurip subdistrict, Purworejo district. Looking at the relationship between sociodemographic characteristics and knowledge and attitudes. Research method: This research is an analytical type of research that uses a cross-sectional design using 100 samples with inclusion and exclusion criteria. Research results: The research results showed that 58 respondents (58%) had a good level of knowledge, 25 respondents (25%) had a moderate level of knowledge, 17 respondents (17%) had a poor level of knowledge. Community attitudes were 41 respondents good, 42 respondents moderate and 17 respondents poor. The chi-square test results showed no relationship between respondent characteristics and knowledge in consuming TOGA, but there was a relationship between gender characteristics and attitudes and education and attitudes. Conclusion: It can be concluded that the Candisari village community has good knowledge about TOGA and has a moderate attitude towards the use of TOGA. Recommendation: the sample should be used from 1 village and taken randomly
