Abstract
Background : Stage I of labor is the beginning of real labor contractions with progressive cervical changes ending with complete opening (10 cm) in primigravida, stage one lasts about 13 hours, while in multigravida it lasts about 7 hours. Generally, women understand that pain will occur during labor. Pain that occurs during labor is normal and natural. Pain that occurs during labor is an indicator of opening and dilation of the cervix. However, if the pain that occurs is not treated properly, it will have a negative impact on the well-being of the mother and baby. So it takes handling to relieve pain without side effects, one of which is massage with effleurage. Objective : Describe Nursing Care for Patients in Childbirth Period I with Labor Pain Nursing Problems in the VK Room of the Kemiri Health Center, Purworejo Regency. Method : This scientific paper uses a descriptive case study design. The case study subjects were 5 people with stage 1 labor, who experienced labor pain problems. Data were collected using interview techniques, observation or physical examination, and documentation study. Results : Evaluation of the five patients in labor phase I was achieved with an average pain scale before being given Effleurage Massage is 5.4. While after being given Effleurage Massage the average patient pain scale is 4.4. Recommendation : It is hoped that the application of Massage Effleurage to patients in the first stage of labor can help reduce labor pain
