Abstract
Background: the prevalence of DM diagnosed in Central Java is 1.2% of the prevalence of DM in Indonesia. In 2021, 3,261 new cases of type 2 DM were detected in Purworejo Regency. Wounds on the feet are some of the complications of diabetes mellitus. The cause of diabetic gangrene is anaerobic bacteria, the most common being Clostridium. The problem that often arises is the destruction of network integrity. Non-pharmacological management that can be done is by warm water foot soak therapy or hydrotherapy. Objective: presented the results of nursing care to prevent gangrenous wounds in diabetes mellitus patients by soaking in warm water at the Semawung Health Center Daleman Kutoarjo. Method: This scientific writing uses a descriptive case study design. Case study subjects were 5 DM patients with risk problems for impaired skin integrity. Collecting data with observation techniques, interviews and documentation studies. Result: Evaluation of the five patients showed that there was less tingling and weakness in the legs, they felt more comfortable after being given warm water soak therapy, reduced dizziness, and increased Ankle Branchial Index (ABI) values. Recommendation: The innovative action of foot soak therapy with warm water is effective in overcoming the risk of disrupting skin integrity.
