Abstract
Background: Cervical cancer became emotional trauma and affects the quality of life for women. This situation can lead to a decrease in self-image, resulting in a decrease in self-esteem of individuals, and quality of life will decrease drastically. This study will be conducted in hospitals Prof. dr. Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto using questionnaires QLQ CX-24. Methods: This study used quantitative descriptive cross sectional approach. Sampling technique using a random sample, a total population of 250 people, samples used consisted of 38 people who are undergoing treatment. Results:The result showed the majority of patients aged 31-64 years 84.2%. Stage IIb and IIIb cervical cancer 47.4%. Elementary education level 65.8%. Experience symptoms of either 73.7%. 63.2% better body image. 97.4% poor sexual function. Limphoedema both 86.8%. Peripheral nerve good 50%. Good 60.5% of menopausal symptoms. Sexual anxiety worse. Bad sexual activity 94.7%. Bad sexual happiness. Quality of life was 84.2%. Conclusion: Description of the Quality of Life in Patients with Cervical Cancer in hospitals Prof. dr. Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto most have a medium quality of life.The result is expected the nurse is able to improve the overall service, the provision of health education to clients and families about the problems experienced symptoms and treatment, and to provide education about sexual intercourse during treatment. So that patients can cope with the symptoms of cervical cancer treatment with good effect.
