Abstract
Background: Congestive heart failure (CHF) is the inability of the heart to pump blood to meet the need for oxygen and nutrients to the body's tissues. This is what causes anxiety, which negatively affects the quality of breathing, chest pain, panic, and can make the symptoms of CHF worse. One non-pharmacological therapy that can reduce anxiety, such as generalist therapy or modality therapy, is based on the patient's talents as a starting point for healing or therapy. This therapy is able to change the patient's maladaptive behavior into adaptive. Objective: Describe nursing care by providing generalist therapy and instrumental music to CHF patients with anxiety nursing problems in the Santa Anna Room Palang Biru Hospital Kutoarjo. Method: This scientific writing uses a descriptive case study design. The case study subjects were 5 CHF patients, who experienced anxiety problems. Collecting data with observation techniques, interviews and documentation studies. The instruments used were the Hospital Anxiety And Depressionn Scale (HADS), observation sheets, nursing care formats, and mobile phones. Generalist therapy and music therapy were carried out every day for five consecutive days. Result: The results of the implementation of the five patients who had been given generalist therapy and instrumental music which was performed for 3 days in a row with duration 20 minutes experienced a decrease in anxiety level from an average anxiety level of 12 (moderate cases) to an anxiety level of 10 (mild cases). Conclusion: Evaluation of the five patients, innovative generalist therapy and instrumental music are effective in reducing anxiety levels in CHF patients. Recommendation: Generalist therapy and instrumental music as Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
