Abstract
Background: Acute renal failure is a clinical syndrome resulting from metabolic or pathological damage to the kidneys which is characterized by a marked and rapid decline in function and the occurrence of azotemia. Patients with acute renal failure require hemodialysis. The purpose of hemodialysis is to remove metabolic waste, protein, water and electrolyte balance disorders between the dialysate solution compartments through a semipermeable membrane (thin membrane) which functions as an artificial kidney or commonly called a dialyzer. This hemodialysis procedure requires access through veins that are large enough to remove and reintroduce filtered blood into the dialyzer machine. The vein most often used for dialysis access is the femoral vein, puncture of the femoral vein causes pain and makes the patient feel traumatized to do hemodialysis at the next schedule, however if the patient does not do hemodialysis at the next schedule it can cause the initial symptoms to reappear because the blood is not filtered well. To reduce the trauma caused by pain, management needs to be carried out, one of which is therapybreathing exercise. Purpose: Explaining Nursing Care for Patients with Acute Renal Failure with Acute Pain Nursing Problems with TherapyBreathing Exercise At RSUD Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto. Research Methods: This research design uses a descriptive case study research method, this case study describes nursing care for acute kidney failure patients with acute pain nursing problems with therapy.Breathing Exercise At RSUD Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto Results: From the results of the study carried out on the five respondents, data was obtained that the five patients said they felt pain during vein puncture with a moderate pain scale (4-6), after implementation with 3 meetings with each respondent with results after therapy.breathing exercise Overall, respondents felt that the pain during the stabbing was reduced and the patient also felt more relaxed when the stabbing was carried out. Conclusion: From the results of nursing care for the five patients, it can be concluded that therapy was providedbreathing exercise effective for reducing acute pain in patients with acute renal failure undergoing hemodialysis. Recommendation: It is hoped that future researchers will be able to examine the administration of compresses usingcool pack in patients who will undergo hemodialysis access.
