Abstract
Background: Fracture or broken bone is a condition of breaking the normal continuity of a bone tissue. One of the orthopedic surgical procedures that can be performed is open reduction using internal fixation.Open Reduction and Internal Fixation/ O.R.I.F.) which aims to keep the bone fragments in place until bone healing improves. Surgery traumatizes soft tissues and structures that were not previously injured. Trauma due to surgery to the bones, muscles, tissues, or joints will result in acute pain (<6 months). The pain felt by post ORIF patients causes discomfort so it needs to be managed. One of the pain management that can be done independently and continuously is therapyguide imagery and lemon aromatherapy.. Purpose: Explaining the analysis of nursing care for post ORIF patients with acute pain nursing problems with administration guided imagery and lemon aromatherapy in the Seruni Room of RSUD Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto.. Results: The results of the study were carried out on five respondents who said they felt pain in the postoperative ORIF wound area with a moderate scale (4-6) and experienced acute pain nursing problems. The nursing intervention that was carried out was giving guided imagery and lemon aromatherapy. After being implemented for three days, the result was thatguided imagery and lemon aromatherapy is very effective in reducing acute pain problems . Recommendation: For future researchers, it is hoped that they can examine giving massage with aromatherapy to reduce acute pain in post OROF patients .
