Abstract

Background: Sectio caesarea delivery is a surgical process performed to deliver a fetus by slicing the abdominal wall and uterine wall. Sectio caesarea delivery causes acute pain nursing problems. One of the non-pharmacological measures to reduce pain levels is foot massage. Objective: To describe the results of postoperative sectio caesarea nursing care with acute pain in the Flamboyan Room of Prof. Hospital. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto. Methods: case study with the subject of 5 post sectio caesarea patients with acute pain problems. Foot massage therapy is carried out 12 hours after surgery once a day for 3 days with a duration of 20 minutes. Measurement of the pain scale using a numeric rating scale was carried out before the action and was evaluated 1 hour after giving foot massage therapy. Results: The five patients got the main nursing problem of acute pain. After the foot massage was carried out, the results of this therapy were effective in reducing pain intensity in postoperative sectio caesarea patients. Recommendation: Foot massage therapy is recommended for post sectio caesarea patients to reduce pain intensity.
