Abstract

Background: Bronchopneumonia is often found in children and infants, because the immune system is not strong in children and infants. The inflammatory process of the bronchopneumonia disease process causes existing clinical manifestations so that several problems arise and one of them is ineffective airway clearance. Non-pharmacological therapies for bronchopneumonia include chest physiotherapy. Objective: To provide nursing care for children with bronchopenemonia with airway clearance nursing problems in the Aster Room of Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto Hospital. Methods: The research method is a case report. The subjects of this study were 5 bronchopenemonia pediatric patients with airway clearance ineffectiveness. The tools in this study are nursing care format, Nursing Kit, observation of signs and symptoms of airway ineffectiveness, and chest physiotherapy SOP. Presentation of data that the author does by drawing conclusions based on subjective and objective data, which are presented in the documentation method and nursing care resume. Results: The results of the assessment in the five patients had the same main complaints, namely cough, fever and shortness of breath. The nursing diagnosis of the five patients was ineffective airway clearance. Interventions that have been carried out in the five patients to overcome ineffective airway clearance are airway management. Implementation that has been carried out in the five patients is positioning the patient to maximize ventilation, auscultation of breath, monitor respiratory status and oxygenation, chest physiotherapy. The results of the evaluation after taking nursing action on the five patients showed a decrease in signs and symptoms of ineffective airway clearance problems such as shortness of breath, fever, cough. Conclusion: Giving chest physiotherapy actions effectively reduces signs of ineffective airway clearance symptoms.
