Abstract
Background: Hypertension is also a silent killer disease (silent killer) because it can cause sudden death caused by higher blood pressure so that the risk of suffering from complications is even greater. One of the most effective non-pharmacological alternative treatments for reducing and helping to treat acute pain due to hypertension is progressive muscle reflexology. Objective: The purpose of this paper is to get an overview of the application of progressive muscle reflexes as a management of acute pain nursing problems in hypertensive patients. Method: This paper uses a descriptive case study design. The case study subjects were 5 hypertension patients who experienced pain nursing problems. Collecting data with observation techniques, interviews and documentation studies. Results : The main nursing diagnosis that appears in the fifth patient with hypertension is acute pain. Implementation is carried out according to nursing interventions, evaluation of results during 3 meetings a week for 4 weeks the level of pain decreases and pain control increases. Recommendation: Nurses are expected to be able to apply progressive muscle reflexology to treat acute pain nursing problems in hypertensive patients.
