Abstract
Background: WHO estimates that the incidence of TB in Indonesia in 2017 is 842,000 or 319 per 100,000 population, and deaths due to TB are estimated at 107,000 or 40 per 100,000 population. The current TB prevention program does not only focus on passive activity strategies with active promotives, but active, family- and community-based intensive case finding activities. One of the efforts to maximize the program, starting from early detection of TB cases, is through increasing the role and skills of TB cadres. One of the efforts that can be done is to increase knowledge through health education supported by health promotion media. Furthermore, to maximize case finding activities or contact investigations of suspected TB contacts, a mentoring process is needed. This assistance is provided through an orientation consisting of basic information on TB, the role of TB control cadres, training cadres to provide counseling to patients and families and training to conduct contact investigations. Information obtained through training has an impact on increasing cadre knowledge about pulmonary TB control General purpose: To find out the effectiveness of educating health cadres on findings of suspected Tuberculosis (TB) at the Puskesmas Ambal 2. Method: The research method used an experimental method using a research design Pre- Experimental Design with approach cross sectional. In this study the researchers only made observations, interventions in the form of health education would be carried out by health center staff and lecturers from Gombong Muhammadiyah University, researchers would carry out observations before and after health education about TB was carried out for health cadres on the findings of suspected Tuberculosis (TB) at the Puskesmas Ambal 2. Results : From the results of the test analysisWilcoxon the result is that the Z count is -4.939b andAsymp. Sig. (2-tailed) 0.001 or <0.05, it can be concluded that there are differences in the findings of TB suspects before and after being given education with an increasemean before and after the intervention of 1.47 (r: 1.47). In assessing the proportion of TB suspects according to the Kemenkes RI (2016) before education was 16% and after education 6.25%. Conclusion : From the results of this study it was concluded that there was an effective education of health cadres on suspected findingstuberculosis (TB) with Z count results of -4.939b andAsymp. Sig. (2-tailed) 0.001 or <0.05 and the proportion of TB suspects found was 6.25%. Recommendation: For future researchers, it is expected to examine the relationship between knowledge and the ability to detect TB suspects in health cadres.
