Abstract
Background: Diabetes mellitus can be said to be a chronic disease. This disease requires therapy throughout its life, maintaining a diet pattern and increasing the level of knowledge about diabetes mellitus can prolong the life of sufferers. In Kretek Village, Rowokele District, there were 38 Type II Diabetes Mellitus sufferers in less than the last 5 years. Research Objectives: Knowing the effectiveness of providing health education about the 3J diet pattern on the level of knowledge of patients with type II diabetes mellitus in Kretek Village. Research Methods: The research conducted was quantitative research using Pre-Experimental Design research design, the sampling technique used total sampling. The respondents in the study were 38 respondents and less than 100 respondents using total sampling. Research Results: The results of the study showed a significant increase in both knowledge and dietary compliance, before education and after education, characterized by a p-value of 0.000 these results are said to be valid. Conclusion: The majority of Kretek Village fell into the moderate category for the level of knowledge and dietary compliance that had been implemented after the provision of health education. Recommendations: It is hoped that further researchers can continue research on the application of the 3J diet pattern to blood sugar levels in patients with type II diabetes mellitus, knowing how effective the application of the 3J diet pattern is on blood sugar levels in patients with type II diabetes mellitus.
