Abstract
Background: One of the basic human needs disorders that appear in Post Hernia Surgery patients is acute pain associated with physiological injury agents. Pain, especially in the abdominal area, causing discomfort General Objective: To describe the analysis of the nursing care process in post-hernia surgery patients with acute pain nursing problems in the Multazam ward of PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Methods: Actions taken to reduce acute pain by providing progressive muscle relaxation therapy once a day with a duration of 10-15 minutes for 5 consecutive days Nursing Care Outcomes: The five patients had a top priority nursing diagnosis, namely acute pain related to physiological injury agents. Intervention with the aim of reducing pain levels based on the Indonesian Nursing Outcome Standard (SLKI) and using pain management based on the Indonesian Nursing Intervention Standard (SIKI). The actions given are pain management and provide progressive muscle relaxation as nonpharmacological therapy. The nursing evaluation for the five patients was that the pain had not been resolved and there was a significant decrease in the level of pain with an average pain scale of 1 Recommendation: Progressive muscle relaxation therapy is very good for post-hernia surgery patients as a therapy to reduce the level of acute pain
