Abstract
Background : Hypertension is a condition of an increase in blood pressure which results in an increase in the rate of pain and death. Persistent and uncontrolled hypertension can lead to dangerous further complications. Therefore, it is necessary to have management to overcome the increase in blood pressure in people with hypertension. One of the interventions to control blood pressure is greentea aromatherapy therapy. Purpose : This study aims to determine the effect of greentea aromatherapy on blood pressure in hypertensive patients at the Yonif 412 Purworejo primary clinic. Research Method : The research design used was a quasy experiment pre-post test with control group with sampling techniques using purposive sampling. The total sample was 42 respondents for each intervention group and control group. The instruments used are a sphygmomanometer, stethoscope, and observation sheet. This research has passed the ethical test No. 260.6 / II.3.AU / F / KEPK / IX / 2022 by the Health Research Ethics Commission of the University of Muhammadiyah Gombong. Result : The results of systolic blood pressure with a value of p = 0.000 (p value < 0.05) and diastolic blood pressure with a value of p = 0.041 (p value < 0.05). Conclusion : The conclusion of this study is that there is a significant effect of greentea aromatherapy on blood pressure reduction in hypertensive patients at the Pratama Yonif 412 Purworejo Clinic. Recommendation : The recommendation or suggestion for health services is the addition of greentea aromatherapy interventions adapted to programs that have been running as nonpharmacological therapies to lower blood pressure.
