Abstract
Background Stroke is a neurological disorder associated with vascular injury of the central nervous system. Stroke is the second leading cause of death and a cause of disability throughout the world. Causes of stroke include imbalanced diet, smoking habits, alcohol consumption, lack of exercise, old age and hypertension. The aim of the research is to determine the factors that influence the incidence of stroke in Banyumas Medika Alert Hospital. Research Method, The research design used in this research is an analytical survey using a cross sectional study approach. The instrument used is a questionnaire sheet. Where to find out independent variables such as age, gender, history of hypertension, history of diabetes mellitus, history. smoking, obesity, cardiovascular disease. The sample in this study was 51 stroke sufferers at Siaga Medika Banyumas Hospital. Univariate tests are presented in the form of frequency distribution tables, bivariate analysis with Chisquare. The research results show that there are several factors that influence the incidence of stroke, such as age, gender, history of hypertension, history of diabetes mellitus, where the results of statistical tests obtained a p value <0.05, and those that do not influence the incidence of stroke, such as smoking habits and obesity, where the results Statistical tests obtained a p value >0.05. Conclusion: There are several factors that influence the incidence of stroke (age, gender, history of hypertension, history of diabetes mellitus), smoking habits, obesity do not influence the incidence of stroke at the Siaga Medika Banyumas Hospital. Recommendations for future researchers: as basic data for future researchers and it is hoped that future researchers will use their time and energy as efficiently as possible and can involve families in this research.
