Abstract

Background: Postpartum blues in postpartum women reach 50-70%. Risk factors for postpartum blues can come from internal or external. Internal factors that can cause postpartum blues are fluctuating hormonal changes after childbirth. While external factors are caused by husband support, family support and insufficient environment and socioeconomic conditions. Objective: To find out the factors that influence the occurrence of postpartum blues at PKU Muhammadiyah Petanaha Hospitaln. Method: The type of this research used quantitative research with a correlational design of cross sectional approach. The population in this study was all postpartum mothers totaling 40 women. The sampling technique in this study used purposive sampling. In analyzing the data bivariately, data testing was carried out using the Spearman Rank test with a significant level of 95%. Results:. Rank Spearman stated that internal factors (age, education, knowledge, parity) and external factors (husband support, work, myths influenced the incidence of postpartum blues at PKU Muhammadiyah Petanahan Hospital with p value <0.05 Conclusion: Internal factors (age, education, knowledge, parity) and external factors (husband support, occupation, myths influence the incidence of postpartum blues
