Abstract

Background : Hypertension is one of the causes of death in the world, around 1.13 billion people in the world suffer from hypertension, it is estimated that in 2025 there will be an increase of 1.5 billion. Every year 9.4 million people die from hypertension and its complications. One of the complications that often occurs due to hypertension is stroke. Stroke prevention efforts are also influenced by the knowledge and attitudes of stroke patients. Therefore researchers are interested in doing this research. Objective : This research is to analyze the relationship between knowledge level and lifestyle with stroke prevention efforts in hypertension sufferers at the Karanganyar Health Center. Methods : This research is a quantitative descriptive correlation study with a cross sectional approach study, with a sample of 95 people taken using simple random sampling. Results : The results showed that the majority of respondents had good knowledge of 49 people (51.2%), an adequate lifestyle of 50 people (52.6%) and good stroke prevention efforts 53 people (55.8%). Based on the spearman test, it was found that there was no relationship between knowledge level and stroke prevention efforts in hypertension sufferers at the Karanganyar Health Center with a p-value = 0.055 > α = 0.05 and there was a lifestyle relationship with stroke prevention efforts at Karanganyar Health Center with a p-value = 0.043 > α = 0.05. Conslusion : The conclusion obtained is that there is no relationship between the level of knowledge and lifestyle with stroke prevention efforts at the Karanganyar Health Center Recommendation : It is hoped that future researchers can examine more deeply about other factors that can influence stroke prevention efforts in people with hypertension.
