Abstract
Background: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a chronic disease that occurs when the pancreas does not produce enough insulin or when the body cannot effectively use the insulin produced. Diabetes mellitus that is not treated properly can cause chronic complications. Most diabetes mellitus sufferers do not understand the goals of therapy so they are not aware of the dangers of complications that can arise. This increase in insulin use means that diabetes mellitus sufferers who use insulin therapy need to know and understand how to use insulin properly and correctly. Apart from that, sufferers must comply with this in order to achieve the main goal of insulin therapy. Research Objectives: To describe the factors associated with diabetes mellitus patient compliance in self-administering insulin at RSU Siaga Medika Purbalingga. Research Method: the method in this research is quantitative research with the research design used is Cross Sequential. Measurements are carried out one meeting at a time. The sample used was 75 respondents. Research Results: Based on the research results, the Chi-Square test results showed a p-value of 0.027 on the age knowledge variable, a p-value of 0.157 on the gender variable, a p-value of 0.004 on the education variable, markp-value is 0.396 for the work variable.These results show that the variables age and education have a significant correlation with compliance in type 2 DM patients, while the variables gender and occupation do not have a significant correlation with compliance in type 2 DM patients. In conclusio: The factors associated with compliance with insulin therapy for diabetes mellitus at RSU Siaga Medika Purbalingga are age and education. Recommendations for further research: so that maximum results can be carried out, research can be carried out by observing respondents over a certain period of time so that they can accurately measure the level of compliance.
