Abstract
Background: Mental disorders are serious mental health disorders that can affect a person's ability to think, feel and behave clearly. People with mental disorders will generally have difficulty distinguishing something that is real and something that is not real. Patients who have been diagnosed with mental disorders will experience difficulties in the recovery process and can recover, but it will take a very long time and cannot be like before. The family plays an important role in the presence of people with mental disorders, in addition to the high costs of caring for patients with mental disorders, patients also need attention, more support, especially from their families. Research Objectives: To analyze family support in caring for people with mental disorders in the Adimulyo Health Center area. Research Methods: Descriptive research used to describe the situation objectively. Sampling using total sampling technique as many as 158 respondents. The research instrument used a family support questionnaire. Results: On emotional support, attention is given by social workers in Liponsos to neglected ODGJ clients in the form of assistance to clients when they are in trouble. Respondents' good knowledge regarding the care of patients with mental disorders can be used as a basis for forming respondents in caring for patients at home because knowledge is the lowest domain in shaping one's behavior. Conclusion: There is a relationship between family support in caring for people with mental disorders in the Adimulyo Health Center area. Recommendation: Future researchers are expected to carry out further research related to the treatment of people with mental disorders while taking into account other factors (patients, doctors, person in charge of the patient and the surrounding environment and with a larger sample size.
