Abstract
Background: Hypertension or high blood pressure disease is a chronic condition characterized by increased blood pressure on the walls of arteries. The initial symptoms of hypertension are usually asymptomatic, characterized only by a rise in blood pressure. The rise in blood pressure is initially temporary but eventually becomes permanent. When symptoms appear, they are usually vague. Headaches, usually in the nape and neck, may appear upon awakening, which diminish during daylight hours. The pain of people with hypertension can interfere with daily activities, Management carried out to overcome pain in hypertensive patients, one of which is the provision of warm compresses. Methods: This research method is descriptive research using a case study approach. Case studies were conducted on respondents who met the research criteria. The intervention is carried out for 3 hours. Results: After intervening for 3 hours, namely efforts to overcome pain in hypertensive patients. The results obtained are a decrease in pain scale before a warm compress is done and after a warm compress is done at 3 hours later. Conclusion : The application of warm compresses on the nape in hypertensive patients can reduce the intensity of headaches. Advice for hypertensive patients who experience headaches should be to do warm compresses on the nape independently to help reduce headaches.
