Abstract
Background: Postoperative breast cancer patients often experience pain. Pain can interfere with daily activities and the patient's quality of life. Foot massage is a massage technique that can help reduce pain. Foot massage works by increasing blood circulation, improving lymphatic flow, and reducing muscle tension. Objective: Conduct nursing care for the application of foot massage to postoperative CA mamae patients at Prof. Hospital. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto Method: This research uses a descriptive method with a case study approach. The research subjects were 5 postoperative breast cancer patients at Prof. Hospital. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto. The research instruments are nursing care formats, Nursing Kits, and action innovation SOPs. Results: The results of the assessment showed that all five patients had the same main complaint of acute pain. The priority nursing diagnosis for Patients I-V is acute pain related to a physical injury agent (surgical procedure) as evidenced by the number of patients who complain of pain on a scale of 4-6. The nursing interventions carried out are pain management and non-pharmacological foot massage. The nursing implementation carried out was comprehensive pain assessment and non-pharmacological foot massage. The results of the nursing evaluation for the five patients after ca mammae surgery showed a decrease in the pain scale after non-pharmacological foot massage was carried out. On average, patients experienced a decrease in pain of 3 on the scale. Conclusion: Foot massage can be an effective nursing intervention to reduce pain in post-operative breast cancer patients. Recommendation: Based on the results of this research, it is recommended to create a standard operating procedure (SOP) for innovative foot massage procedures for post-operative breast cancer patients. This SOP can be used as a reference for nurses in providing nursing interventions to patients.
