Abstract
Background: Adolescence is a transitional period from childhood to adulthood marked by various conflicts (Unayah & Sabarisma, 2017). Smoking is a detrimental habit, particularly harmful to teenagers' health. In Indonesia, 2% of teenagers, both male and female, are identified as cigarette addicts (Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, 2022). Aim: To analyze family nursing care for families with adolescents experiencing health behavior issues associated with a tendency to smoke. The study focuses on implementing self-management diversion therapy in Cindaga Village, Kebasen District. Method: This study was a descriptive method using a case study approach within the context of nursing care studies. Results: The study involved five clients, and the findings revealed that following the implementation of smoking diversion therapy, cigarette consumption decreased by 56%. Conclusion: The analysis indicates that smoking diversion therapy, employing self-management techniques, effectively reduces cigarette consumption among active smokers.
