Abstract
Background: Head injury or head trauma is one of the main causes of death in traffic accidents. According to the World Health Organization (WHO, 2019). Head injury patients are identified with the main complaint of headache which occurs due to damage to brain tissue. Pharmacologically, mild pain in head injury patients can be treated by administering anti-pain medication or medication to relieve pain. Providing autogenic relaxation therapy is a non pharmacological therapy to reduce pain in a person. General Objective: The aim of this research is to explain the analysis of nursing care for head injury patients with acute pain nursing problems. Method: This final scientific work uses a descriptive case study. Case study subject with five respondents. The instruments used were emergency nursing care format, numeric rating scale (NRS), and observation sheet and autogenic relaxation SOP. Results of nursing care: From the results of applying the autogenic relaxation technique which was carried out for 10-15 minutes, data was obtained that autogenic relaxation was able to reduce the pain scale in each patient. Recommendation: Autogenic relaxation therapy can be used to reduce the pain scale in patients with mild head injuries.
