Abstract
Background: Head injury is a type of injury caused by a blow or impact to the head which can affect consciousness and also affect parts of the head such as the scalp, skull and brain. Patients with head injuries often experience headache as their main complaint, which arises due to damage to brain tissue. Guided imagery and music is a non-pharmacological intervention that can help reduce pain, anxiety, trauma, sadness, stress, negative thoughts in a person. slow deep breathing is an action carried out consciously by an individual to regulate breathing deeply and slowly. The two non-pharmacological therapies above are considered to have an influence in reducing pain. General Purpose: This study aims to analyze nursing care for head injury patients with acute pain nursing problems. Method: This research was a descriptive research. The research sample was patients with cases of mild head injuries at the Emergency Department at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital with a total of 5 patients who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The research instruments used included emergency assessment forms, NRS pain assessment scales, observation sheets, and SOPs for guided imagery and music (GIM) and slow deep breathing therapy. Nursing Care Results : The results of innovative guided imagery and music (GIM) nursing actions and slow deep breathing in five patients with mild head injuries who experienced acute pain showed that there was an effect in reducing the intensity of pain, namely from a scale of moderate pain to mild pain. Recommendation: The results of this nursing care can be used as a reference procedure in implementing non-pharmacological therapy to treat acute pain problems.
