Abstract
Background, CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease) is a functional disorder of the kidney organ so that kidney function no longer function to maintain metabolism and balance of fluids and electrolytes which results in the accumulation of uremic waste which should be excreted through urine and causes symptoms of illness such as shortness of breath (dypsnoea). So the deep breathing relaxation technique is an effective intervention to reduce shortness of breath in patients, one of which is the semi-Fowler position and the slow deep breathing exercise relaxation technique. The purpose of the study: To explain nursing care for Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) patients with semi-Fowler position intervention and slow deep breathing exercise relaxation to reduce dyspnoea in the emergency room at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Nursing care outcome, Non-pharmacological management, namely through semi-Fowler positioning and slow deep breathing exercise relaxation in a gradual and structured manner which aims to reduce dispnea experienced by CKD patients. The diagnosis that emerged was ineffective breathing patterns related to difficulty breathing, After 1x 4 hour nursing actions in the meetings, it is hoped that the problem of ineffective breathing patterns can be overcome with the criteria of improved breathing patterns. The implementation that has been carried out is the semi-Fowler position and slow deep breathing exercise relaxation in patients with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) resulting in breathing patterns improved, dyspnoea decreased, SpO2 increased to 98- 100%, and RR decreased to 24-26 x/minute. Recommendation: It is hoped to carry out to determine the effectiveness of the semi-Fowler position and the slow deep breathing exercise relaxation technique to reduce shortness of breath in CKD patients.
