Abstract

Background: therapeutic communication is aimed at changing the patient's behaviour towards a better direction in order to achieve optimal level of health. Factors that influence therapeutic communication can be factors that help or hinder the implementation of therapeutic communication. Objective of the study: Knowing the supporting factors of nurses' therapeutic communication skills in the inpatient room of Rsud Krt Setjnegoro Wonosobo. Purpose of the study: Knowing the supporting factors of nurses' therapeutic communication skills in the inpatient room of Rsud Krt Setjnegoro Wonosobo. Research Methods: Descriptive quantitative with nonrandom sampling technique of total sampling type, with inclusion criteria for inpatient nurses as many as 107 respondents, instrument in the form of a therapeutic communication questionnaire with a pearson product moment validity test value of 0.9, and Kuder Richardson 20 reliability test of 0.81 and Cronbach's Alpha 0.83 with univariate data analysis techniques. Research results: The age of most nurses in the range of 31-40 years (44.9%). Female gender was more prevalent (76.6%). Education was mostly DIII (69.2%). Length of service was mostly in the range of 1-5 years and 11-15 years (23.4). Most nurses had attended training (65.4%). The level of knowledge of nurses was good (97.7%). The process of implementing therapeutic communication was categorised as good (86%). Conclusion: the most supporting factors for therapeutic communication skills are owned by nurses with good knowledge category. Recommendations for future researchers: Can be used as data to improve nurse therapeutic communication in hospital service settings.
